Today (11:50)   As Promised By Suresh Prabhu, Mountain Man Dashrath Manjhi's Home To Get Rail Connectivity

Manjhi is famous for tearing apart rocky mountain single-handedly to carve out a road using chisel and hammer. It took him 22 years but Manjhi shortened the travel between the Atri and Wazirganj of Gaya town from 55 km to 15 km.
About a year ago, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu promised everyone to bring railways to Gehlore for a better connectivity after hearing Manjhi's heartbreaking story.
With Union finance minister Arun Jaitley sanctioning Rs 300 crore in this year's Budget for laying of a railway line between Wazirganj and Natesar in Gaya
district, Gehlaur, the native village of legendary 'mountain man' Dashrath Manjhi will now get trains.
Danapur divisional railway manager (DRM) R K Jha said the project would be completed on a priority basis up to a stretch of about 20km as a mark of respect to Manjhi. "The railway ministry has sanctioned adequate funds to complete the project within the stipulated time," he added.
The Budget has also sanctioned Rs 100 crore for the track doubling work between Kiul and Gaya (123km).
After the completion of the project, more passenger trains would run between Kiul and Gaya," the DRM added.
"Similarly, the Gaya bypass-Manpur line (2km), which will be laid at an expenditure of Rs 6.28 crore, would streamline traffic operations on the route. The Bihta-Aurangabad new line (118km) will also provide an alternative to people. The project will be completed at a cost of Rs 326 crore," Jha said.

Budget me e proposed hai ki sabhi D-loco shed jo Electrified route me hai wo sabhi ab e-loco bhi hold karenge lekin jo Gonda me bana hai wo E-loco shed hai ya ETS? Pic me jo Structure dikh raha hai usse to hume ETS lagta hai.

Both have air-brakes only. :)
Air/Vacuum brake refers to how the application of brake is controlled. Disc/Tread brake refers to which part of the coach/bogie the brake is applied to.
Normal ICF coaches are Air-braked, with Tread brakes, while LHB coaches are Air-braked and have Disc brakes.

A good summary of the differences, just a few corrections.
1) There are no HLHB coaches with FIAT bogies. All coaches with LHB type stainless steel shell and FIAT bogies are referred to as LHB coaches (Both EOG type and self-generating). and all coaches with LHB style stainless steel shell and ICF bogies are referred to as Hybrid-LHB coaches.
2) Both HLHB and LHB coaches have CBC couplings.
It is the use of ICF bogies that makes hybrid-LHB coaches different from LHB coaches. Self-generation is just a facility added to the coach, it is not a part of the coach's design or technology and is not a differentiation between LHB and HLHB.

JAISALMER: Following the spurt in demand for limestone, which saw Jaisalmer station becoming the top revenue earner among stations of the North Western Railway (NWR), the ministry has approved the laying of a new 58.5km-long rail track between Hamira and Sonu for an estimated cost of Rs 262 crore.
The new track is expected to reduce the woes of transporting limestone to steel factories in various parts of the country. The line will also be important for the army and is expected to reduce environmental pollution caused by limestone dust.
Around 50 lakh
tonnes of limestone from the mines of Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals limited (RSMM), 40km away from Jaisalmer, are sent to various steel companies in the country. Over 500 trucks transport limestone daily from the mines to Jaisalmer railway station from where it is taken by rail to various places.
This increased transportation cost as well as limestone dust pollution in the area. While the demand to lay a rail line between Sonu and Jaisalmer has been pending for long, the railway ministry has now given the financial approval for the project.
Confirming this, NWR CPRO spokesperson Tarun Jain said the railways had approved the 58.5km line from Thyat Hamira to Sonu and has sanctioned Rs 262 crore for the purpose.
The work on land acquisition has been completed and the tender for the work has also been approved. The project is expected to be completed next year.
Along the route, there will be 62 bridges, three ROBs, nine RUBs as well as a new station, Lanela, between Sonu and Thaiyat Hamira.
Jain said the Jaisalmer station comes first in revenue generation in NWR every year, with 50 lakh tonnes of limestone transported to steel plants in the country, including Bhilai, Durgapur, etc., earning Rs 500 crore in the process.

Within three weeks of Budget announcement, the Finance Ministry today started the process of listing three rail PSUs -IRCTC, IRFC and IRCON.
The government is considering divesting a portion of the paid—up equity share capital through an IPO and has sought Expression of Interest (EoI) from merchant bankers by March 16.
The Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) is scouting for merchant bankers to manage the initial public offering (IPO) of the three PSUs, which is under the administrative control of the Rail Ministry.
government currently holds 100 per cent stake in these three companies.
In his 2017—18 Budget speech, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that the government will put in place a revised mechanism and procedure to ensure time—bound listing of identified CPSEs on stock exchanges as the it will foster greater public accountability and unlock their true value.
“The shares of Railway public sector enterprises (PSEs) like IRCTC, IRFC and IRCON will be listed in the stock exchanges,” Jaitley had said in his speech.
The government intends to raise Rs 72,500 crore through disinvestment of PSUs in the next fiscal.
Of this, Rs 46,500 crore would be raised through disinvestment of minority stake and Rs 11,000 crore through strategic sale.

After merger of Rly& Gen budgets, a new tussle between Rly Min & fin Min begins. Nothing comes for free, this is just the first instalment of the freedom from annual payment of dividends for IR.
The fin. ministry should put pressure on IR to take financially prudent measures like speeding up the construction of financially rewarding projects, various ways to increase revenue generation and reducing unwanted expenditures. These measures can annually save more than 10000 Crore Rs for IR. Ministries fighting for funds does not indicate a good future of
