Well to summarize this journey
1) was delayed due to hose pipe bursts post aljn
2) post that it continuously did 130 kmph
3) Cleanliness of train was superb. Even in the morning when the train was crossing neora still the staff were cleaning the gallery and vestibule. Total rating 5/5
Food was good and better than what I have in 12301/13/59 in up or 12302,14 in DN.
4) Now comes the biggest part and that is it's run in ECR divn.
A) Stopped at dildarnagar, chausa, buaxar, banahi, bihîya, raghunathpur, Ara outer followed by pf , karisath,koelwar, sadisopur, bihita, neora followed by danapur outer and finally at DNR where I deboarded the train.
Jab ECR apne divn ke prime train ke Saath aisa kar sakta Hai toh doosre zone ke trains ke Saath pata bhi nahi. Controlling of DNR really sucks.
This happens to be my first experience in main line route where I was travelling after 7 years as I have been travelling always via GC. GC ke controlling ke aage kuch bhi nahi hain main line.
One thing that I noticed here was the signals as I spent most of the time at gate. The signals which I have seen is four lights ie 2 yellow, 1 green and 1 red. But most of the section I saw only two lights.
Last but not the least the roads from danapur to aiims is a harrowing experience. Itne ghade and aise roads ki little said is better understood. Took complete 90 mins for 4.4 kms journey

ECR ke do hisse hai Ek Grand Chord jo apne naam ki tarah Grand hai an dusra Main line jisme Main problem hai. Patna ke roads ka jada idea nahi. Agar 4.4 km in 90 mins id due to traffic then ok but Bad roads is unacceptable.

Not like that..u were a bit unlucky on that day..even if SK is delayed by a huge margin,it rarely halts at all those places except DNR (when its running early)..Also morning congestion at around Patna is high..Someday try 12393 and see how it runs in DNR Div..It has also covered PNBE-MGS sec in less than 2:30 hrs..
Regarding controlling and all,yes i agree that GC is light years ahead..

To accelerate its eroding fare revenue, the Indian Railways (IR) plans to allow private passenger trains, luxury trains and container operators to use its existing tracks once the dedicated freight corridors (DFCs) become operational, as it will move 70% of the freight traffic to the new routes.
While one railway official said there is a definite thinking in this direction and a study is already going on for utilisation of the released capacity on the IR network, another railway official confirmed that the carrier is open to all such possibilities. Both officials spoke on the condition of anonymity.
private container operators, albeit a few, already use the IR network by paying haulage charges, “private passenger train operators are yet to come in India”, said the first official quoted above. The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL), a special purpose vehicle of the Indian Railways, has been mandated to develop six DFCs across the country, of which the Eastern DFC and the Western DFC are under construction at present, with funding assistance from the World Bank and Japan International Cooperation Agency, respectively.
The total track length of the two DFCs is around 3,300 km. The surveys of the other four DFCs are done, but the work is yet to start.
These DFCs, 80% of which will be built aligned to the existing IR tracks, will carry 70% of the existing freight traffic of the railways which will result in huge released capacity. “If you do not want to invest in rolling stock, you can lease these spaces to private parties,” said the first official. By December 2020, both the Easter DFC and Western DFC will be operational, though sections of each corridor will be commissioned as and when they are ready.
Once the slow-moving freight traffic moves to DFCs, the speed differential will come down drastically. “Right now there is a Gatimaan Express running at 160 km per hour and also others running at 75 km per hour, and goods train at 25 km per hour. Now, if these goods trains are taken off the IR track, there will be only express trains running at high speed. So, speed difference will be minimum. As a result, the throughput will increase as there could be more number of trains. If there are trains running at same speed, the sectional capacity goes up,” said the first official.
A consultant, which is a consortium, is being hired to recommend the possible ways to monetise the released capacity and the revenue potential is expected to be substantial.
Sectional capacity is referred to in terms of paths, which means the number of trains that can be pushed into a section. It is different for each section as some may predominantly have only passenger trains, and capacity released will be lower.
The Indian Railways’ freight-loading target for 2017-18 is 1,165 mt, a meagre increase of 71.5 mt from the revised estimate for 2016-17. The earnings from goods, contributing around 60% of the transporter’s total traffic receipts, have been estimated to be R1.18 lakh crore for 2017-18 compared with an estimated R1.17 lakh crore in 2016-17. The passenger revenue, meanwhile, at R50,125 crore is a little below last year’s target.

After DFCs are commissioned, probably for the first time in decades, much coveted and commercially important surplus slots shall be available on the trunk lines which can be sold to private train operators to operate train. This opportunity to attract private funding/involvement into railway operation should not be wasted. Even Pakistan Railways are allowing private operators to operate premium trains (like our Rajdhani) between Karachi & Lahore which are faster, convenient, comfortable and punctual than other trains on the route..
Pvt operators must be given level playing field to own/market/manage the trains
and compete against the other trains operated by IR.
The entry of pvt operators shall bring in new ideas, new ways of management and more effciency into Rly operation/marketing which IR can implement in rest of IR network.

It sounds too good to be true. And which routes Both EDFC and WDFC lines will remove the freights. But even passenger train traffic is huge. Yes there can be occasional specials which run even now. But luxury private trains is difficult seeing the current situation of Luxury palace on wheels

POWs, Deccan Odyssey etc are ultimate luxury & high end tourist trains giving almost 5 star facility with cabins. Today Maharaja Express operates between Mumbai & Delhi in addition to other destinations.
The proposed pvt trains are supposed to be meant for travellers & not tourists, they may be SF or faster/premium fully ac trains with better facilities or may be high volume all ac fast trains with reasonable fares.
expect Pvt sector definitely to come with a real cheap ac travel with fare just 2 times od SL travel through innovative design of coaches, subject to condition that IR does not charge abnormally high haulage charges from private operators. Past experience of container train operators had not been very good for pvt operators. Independent regulator have to play a constructive role for successful involvement of pvt sector.

Commissioning shall not take so long as all the major contracts for construction of WDFC (1500kms+) have already been awarded to contractors and about 92% contracts for EDFC (Ludhiana-Sonnagar 1300+km) have been awarded.
It is expected that that above shall be fully commissioned in phases 3-5 years.(although the target is yr 2019/20 which is likely to be extended by an year or two)
For other 4 DFCs planned it will take much longer as funds have not been arranged for the same.
