No need to run for bedding. There's enough for everyone
I travel by this train multiple times (twice a month atleast) ...and i always wait & relax until all the people are done flocking & grabbing their piece... and i simply walk up to the guy & pickup mine. Try this ... and it ALWAYS WORKS. (regardless of whether i bought the bedding already or not) Its just that this "competing" mentality is so in-built in us Indians (sadly) that we rarely believe in abundance. There's more than enough. Every day, when this train reaches its final stop, the attendants unload a few big bags of unused/new bedding.

The person who is distributing the beddings is happy because, he need not go to the seats to dump the beddings. Hence he encourages people to come over to him and collect it. Somebody has to take a lead in informing people to go to their seats and instruct the care taker to distribute the beddings at the berths.

Yesterday night I boarded this train at Rajahmundry. No attender was there to find. I waited for 20mins and Train was 40mins Late. So, It was 30mins past 12. I went to see him and to My Surprise there are several Passengers who are in Rush to get Bedrolls.
