Northern Railway to start Multi Model Transport Service Between New Delhi- Srinagar/Budgam

more... Uttar Sampark Kranti Express upto Srinagar and the Kashmir Valley with Road Bridging between Udhampur and Banihal. Passengers will be cleared from Banihal to the Kashmir Valley through a Fast DEMU Service with stoppages and timing as indicated below:-
Under this scheme the passengers will travel by 12445 Uttar Sampark Kranti Express departing from New Delhi at 8.50 p.m. (daily) to arrive at Udhampur at 8.05 a.m.the next day. From Udhampur the passengers will board a bus which will depart at 8.45 a.m. and arrive at Banihal at 2.00 p.m.. From Banihal the passengers will board the DEMU train no. 74627 which will depart at 2.50 p.m. , Anantnag at 3.32p.m., Srinagar at 4.55 p.m. to arrive at Budgam at 5.05 p.m. the same day. Similarly , In the return direction the passengers having the ticket under the scheme may travel by 74630 DEMU train from Budgam which will depart at 11.15 a.m. , Srinagar at 11.30 a.m., Anantnag at 12.22p.m. to arrive Banihal at 1.05 p.m.. The passengers de-boarding the DEMU at Banihal will board the bus which will depart from Banihal at 1.45 p.m. to arrive at Udhampur at 7.00 p.m.. From Udhampur they will travel by Udhampur –New Delhi Sampark Kranti Express train no. 12446 to depart at 7.50 p.m. and arrive at New Delhi at 6.10 a.m. the next day.
The Multi Model Transport service for Srinagar( Jammu & Kashmir) will be started from 05.7.2014, in which Rail & Road both fare are included in the Rail ticket. The ticket will be valid for a passenger to travel on both bus and train.
MoU between Northern Railway and Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation for dedicated bus service between Udhampur and Banihal
Passengers will be charged Rs. 260/- for one way road journey
Dual mode (Rail-Road) ticketing scheme being implemented for the first time by Indian Railways.
