Lucknow retiring room -non ac snap.
No room door lock is provided. So one needs to arrange for a personal lock while going out of retiring room. Cold drinking water is available. Clean bed and pillows.
No quilt provided.
I saw 4 types of rooms. AC - SINGLE N DOUBLE
Non

ac - single n double
I saw 2 different dormitories as well. AC N NON AC. I guess women travellers are not allowed in dormitories.
A deluxe AC Room costs about 550+ taxes <=650 at max per day or for 24 hours slot. 12 hours slot costs about 375 including taxes.
A single person can book double room as well.
Child below 5 years accommodation is free but I guess even child below 12 years which is part of same PNR is allowed in double room along with parents for free.
Extra person is allowed with some extra cost of 250 or so.
NON AC DOUBLE room costs about 375 for 24 hours slot.
Non ac room for 12 hours is about 275.
Single rooms n dormitories costs even cheaper. I don't remember the exact price but definitely cheaper than ac rooms.
Retiring room is very good option as many delhi n mumbai bound trains are during night time and hotels outside charge you for the entire night.
I wanted to catch mumbai bound kushinagar express and you know many times it gets delayed by couple of hours. Standing at the Lucknow platform can give you nightmares if you are traveling with family n kids. By using dormitory ; you get comfortable bed n much deserved sleep as well.

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...

The modification to the TL Update scheme - i.e. the introduction of the new RAC System - has led to some efficiency with TL Updates. More TLs are being discussed, and quickly moved up. However, we still have on Average, about 300 Waitlisted TLs in the backlog at any time, and our hard-working and diligent TLMs...
