kilometers everything was fine, as engine sound was keeping everyone unaware of the mobile song. But gradually most were getting affected with 'repeat' play...
The song was 'painjaniya baajey...' a really devotional song but its boisterous volume was disturbing , and as it was noon, many were just dozing in slumber...
The peak of tolerance was nearing, when on man objected to this and told him to reduce volume...
the boy was too happy to listen, and did not bother to concede to request...
second time man said 'stop' ...
the boy said in hindi 'no...'
then the man got really spirited and rose up and went to boy, and started hitting his head, and yelling 'now you know, ...' and the result was 'silence' ...
but the agitated man did not stop, and was at his peak... He went on hitting with slap and fist, with challenge 'come on ' and then moved away toward his sit...
in mean time boy made a call to someone ... and started uttering in hindi ...
hearing this the man returned to boy and told him 'call all your henchman... I am here, and even will come to your place...' : at this moment boy was really terrified and abruptly switched off phone...
and for rest of the time it was pin drop silence ...
Every passenger was just murmuring something ....
I was awake only when the "First Slap was given" and then understood whole story slowly....
I thought 'really panijaniya (ornamental string with small bells worn by dancers on ankle) has been sung ....

Another incident similar to your case but in different environment ...
After I completed my periodical medical checkups at the hospital I was waiting for vehicle. The first I got was a Jeep 'jam packed' and I had great difficulty getting in. After I had forced myself in, there was hardly a space for any other passenger.

on 'talk' marathon... and speaker was on.... No one was bothered. after sometime mother gave mobile to daughter and she started talking giggling talking giggling... and it lasted for quite a while. Another woman who was silent so far lost nerves and told to reduce the volume and speak in silent, but none of both mom and daughter heeded. This angered the woman and she caught mother by hairs and started hitting. her. Woman was heavily built and mom daughter were frail. They were just shouting to driver stop stop. But driver was too bothered with driving and did not want to 'loose time' by stopping.
No one would wished to stop either.
This went on for some time.
But the jeep stopped only when some 'customers' on road were visible.
Driver came to rear door and opened the door. Asked both to come to front seat.
Both jumped like rat runs from cage.
But the difficulty was no enough space in front.
Ultimately both chose to wait for another vehicle.
Then the dispute for 'fare' arose.
Duo refused to pay.
Driver thought better to go and seek new passenger, as other vehicles were overtaking him.
