It is not only SR, even in CR I was told that you cannot travel from Kalyan to Thane on eticket even if I had ticket upto Dadar. But when I enquired one of the TTE told me that I can travel in the reverse direction from Thane to Kalyan if the e-ticket is from LTT!!

I have checked with the checking squad , i did not say it blindly. I have given the clear explanation why E ticket is not allowed , its left to you to believe it or not.

I think both the cases its not allowed, when you are debording in a station for which you are not having tickets to, it is considered as you are in the PF un-officially. So they can charge you. If you are booking a ticket from SBC-MAS with travelling/Reservation Upto station as PER(Note: not booking SBC-PER), then you can well travel with that ticket in Local train. Since in E-Ticket we cannot do it they might have said no problem in PRS Ticket.
