Dear all
Greetings
I had recently booked AC dormitory at Tirupathi station on 9th Nov, 2014, however noticed the following:-
AC are not working
Geyser in toilet ( 2) not working.
only
...
bedsheet was changed on request.
Inspite of complaint raised nothing was done on AC or Geyser
Blanket , I understand there is hidden rule that , it is changed only once in 15 days, hence did not have to use it.
The supervisor at the reception was kind enough to switch on geyser in another room and I had to fetch hot water from that room, I understood he is also helpless.
It is quite surprising and shocking that in place like tirupathi, where there is so much of floating population and popular destination, the rooms are so badly maintained, that too AC rooms, dormitory, the lesser rooms must be much more bad. Sofa's in retiring room were also in bad shape and needs immediate replacement.
Time for wake up call for railways. While, I appreciate that now you can book online for retiring rooms, which is welcome move, the quality and services rendered for the payment made is not in tune with charges made to the end customer. Quite disappointing .
Check out, if you opting retiring room in tirupathi station.

Not at all surprising, this is the situation all over India. Online is the only thing which is new, but that too is so slow that you may take hours to book. Like the buses in Gujarat(may be other parts of the country also) have got online booking, but the condition of buses is worse(See for GSRTC Rajkot-Bhavnagar). That's for example. Online is the only thing which is added rest all the things are absolutely same. Some years back the rates of these retiring rooms and dormitories were increased and renovated but they are back to same status quo rather the service has gone worst. Previously you would get a towel and blanket and the bed sheets would be changed also which have been totally stopped(Towel and Blanket).

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
