Slip coaches to Manmad will are not given upto Puri. The slip coaches are form Visakhapatnam to Manmad. These slip coaches will be attached to Puri-Tirupati Exp on one day and will be removed at Vijayawada. Thus removed coaches will be attached to Kakinada-Manmad Express. In the return directin also, the same process follows. Coaches from Manmad will be detatched at Vijayawada and attached to Tirupati-Puri exp. Finally, those coaches will be remved at Vishakhaptnam. So, please note that the slip coaches are from Vishakhaptnam<-> Manmad. Once in a week, these slip coaches are attached to Puri-tpty exp. Once in a week, these slip coaches will be attached to Bilaspur-Tirupati express. So the slip coaches are biweekly.

To add to my earlier note, there are one new trains announced in this budget from Puri which will touch Manmad. It is Puri-LokamanyaTilak Terminus exp(2746).
If you want to travel from Bhubaneswar, you can opt for BBS-Lokamanya tilak terminus exp(2880).

Earlier, the slip coaches used to run as biweekly between Vishakhapatnam and Manmad by attaching these coached to Kakinada-Manmad exp at Vijayawada. At VSKP, these coaches used to be attached to Bilaspur-Tirupati exp on Tuesdays and Puri-Tirupati exp on fridays. The same coaches used to be detatched at VSKP in the return direction. I checked from official train website which now shows that these slip coaches run from Puri-Manmad on Fridays and Bilaspur-Manmad on Tuesdays. But in the return direction, it is showing from Manmad to Vishakhapatnam only. Don't know why this discrepancy?
Also note that, when you try to book a ticket from Puri to Manmad on Fridays in irctc, it displays the train name when "find trains" is clicked by selecting Sleeper class. But when you click on show availability, it displays "Class Not exist" Message. This means,

you can't book ticket from Puri to Manmad for now.But you can book the tickets from VSKP. Even the train timetable released by Indian railways displays the slip coaches running between VSKP and Manmad.

Slip route are always for both directions(UP & DOWN).
Slip coaches are attached and detached to the train at same station.
For example check the route for Paschim Exp in this site.
Slip coaches are attached and detached at UMB
