How r passengers Upgraded to higher classes ? Is it applicable only for W/L class or for all ? i.e. CNF / WL / RAC tkts ?
When a passenger is upgraded to Higher class ? Is it at the time of Charting ? If any passenger is upgraded to higher class, is it free or the upgraded passenger need to pay any payment to TTE at the time of checking ?

As I upgraded on my own, I have to pay the difference in fare. Some times I have seen even in A/c chair car some seats go vaccant (this is apart from passengers not turning up or cancellation after preparation of chart).
Whenever I travel in SL 1st thing I chk any berth is avbl on A/c . If avbl, I upgrad myself.
As per bloggers, upgradation is done randomly by the system.
