How better can a day get? Was it better because it was 69th Independence Day? Was it even better because it was the birthday of some of the legendary trains of IR, the HWH Mail (a centurion) and the Master Blaster Vaigai SF (the only SF that was 110-kmph certified during the MG era itself), to name a few. Suffice it to say that I had one of my best days as a rail fan to have had an opportunity to take a ride and celebrate 12635/36 "Horse of the Chord Line" Vaigai on its birthday at its home division. The PRO of MDU division was kind enough to speak to the DRM and got us the much-sought-after permission for a simple function comprising of cake cutting by LP & ALP (we were very specific about this) on MDU PFs. Of course, we had to move...
more... to Deputy Station Master’s cabin as it was unfortunately (for once) raining that day and the PF, especially near the RPM WAP7 30368, was wet and slippery. Thanks to PRO Sir, who had personally graced the occasion.
