Passing of the buck amongst railway zones continues !!!. I had simply raised a concern/suggestion on this train being slow in the pg portal and as usual and ordinary response from them !
Though the train belongs to ECR they say it travels only 38km in their zone. SER says that Tata-Allp covers a distance of 395 Kms. with speed of 46/50 kmph in their zone
So going by this logic ECoR, SCR & Southern railway should be responsible for improving its time!!! If we write to them they would say that this

train does not belong to their zone ! So ultimately no one is responsible !!
Grievance Description : I would like to draw the attention of the ministry to the problems faced by travellers travelling by 13351/13352 Dhanbad-Alleppey Express, commuting by which is a tiresome experience. First, this train covers a distance of about 2,533 km in 57 hours at the rate of approximately 44kmph with a total of 97 halts. On most stretches in Jharkhand, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, it travels extremely slowly and is given very low priority. There is ample scope to reduce its running time anywhere between six and eight hours by removing halts at small stations, which are well-serviced by other trains, and by upgrading it to a superfast category. Even if stops cannot be reduced and upgradation cannot be done, still there is scope to reduce its travel time by cutting on the huge slack time in every state that it passes through . At an average speed of 44km/hour it is one of the slowest trains in India and passengers definitely deserve a better experience. Request you to consider speeding up this train for the overall benefit and comfort of the travelling passengers.
Current Status : CASE CLOSED
Date of Action : 19 Aug 2015
Details : The subject matter examined. In Dhanbad division, the train 13351/52 runs for a very small patch of DHN-CRP section of 38 Km. Therefore, the matter of timing is related with other railways. However, suggestion for revision of timings will be forwarded for inclusion in time tabling meeting for the current year.

true, but you know that removing halts is a herculean task :). Currently bcoz of slack, it takes almost 16 hrs from vskp - mas. Slack is mandatory bcoz of other zone constraints. If it get speeded up in SCR, it will end up at MAS at mid night. In return, again, i don't think ECoR VSKP will change its arrival timings to 14:20. otherwise, 7 hrs between BZA - VSKP would have been sufficient with the existing halts.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
