it will be a good decision if passengers get good food on proper timings, and IR/IRCTC should take strict measures to stop the unauthorised vendors who supplies food in the train.
Decision by IR has both Pros & Cons.
Pros: As mentioned in this blog, adds capacity by replacing the pantry with passenger coach. In some trains pantry menu doesn't go well with passengers, since contractors are from different region so they cannot prepare food for the region in which the passengers travel. Lunch & Dinner, in most cases served by loading at intermediate stations. Breakfast, Snacks & tea are prepared in Pantry and they too have specific timings. With E-Catering having rating system, definitely catering people will take utmost care regarding Hygiene and Quality of the food served. We will have choice of food too. Where as in Pantry we don't know whom to...

But passenger still have access to food in junctions and major stations.

E-CATERING is not available at all the station and also E-catering is used by people too much as it requires too much awareness as well as mobile panTRY is best
