BG TRAIN REACHED AGARTALA, REALLY! HOW MUCH??
It is very sure that, the people of the Tripura State and Barak Valley are extremely delighted that a train again rolled on the tracks of Agartala Station. But what it really means? Toady we tried to measure the outcome of the programme through chatting with several railway people. And that revealed some uncomfortable truth behind the programme.
The lower grade railway officials and some contractors were surprisingly some extent critical towards the programme. They raised some burning points which is worth sharing technically. According to

them this programme is just merely a show off, nothing else. As a variety of work in various stations are still pending.
The the train rolled without proper signaling system(which is yet to be installed after this month), platform work is still pending in every station,
Some stations are completely demolished condition (DMR, KXJ etc)
CRS is inspection is even out of talks.
In this condition, today's trial do not mean a unit better result than the loco trial of the day before yesterday. And the programme even worsen the pace of work some extent. Because a large group of railway people and the workers were busy in developing minimum infrastructures for playing of the train (which is will be replaced) for 15-20 days, by-passing the main flow of work.
According to one of them the work has to be completed within the schedule as per contract, but this 15 day loss will surely make impact on the schedule. And if the work is to be completed within schedule quality of the work may be downgraded in some locations.
Besides this kind of problematic views, some of them described the programme as a positive and the proof of high pace of work. The trial of train signals upcoming more good news to the region.
So, all stay excited, but be cautious.

Accepted your point but almost a year over since when the goods trains are running. After 8 months of running goods train they have started passenger which is taking almost same time of earlier mg era. How many days they want to start 2 or 3 express from SCL. The situation is pathetic & not acceptable.

1. Population of Barak Valley is 36 , 12 , 653 ( Cachar - 17,36,391 , Hailkandi - 6,59,260 , Karimganj - 12,17,002 ) . you also calculated Dima Hasao & Karbi Anglong with it in your data .
where the train from Silchar will not help the people of Karimganj dist , only Agartala Bound train can help them & Badarpur will also serve for Hailkandi dist . also North Cachar is nearer to Badarpur .
2. There is not so much technical glitch in hill route , only some glitch

at Diversion portion . I know the situation of Silchar .
3. yes , you are absolutely right .
4. I am well connected with Silchar rather than Agartala , my relatives are there .
But it is sorry There is no pressure from ASSAM state gov. & The leaders of Barak valley are silent . their demand is just a stage performance not for helping of the people . where tripura state gov giving a lots of pressure to railway ..

They should have already started a Silchar Sealdah exp daily. That practically suffices all the needs and caters to connection with Kolkata,Siliguri,Guwahati...All the important commercial hubs of the region. After 3 months will have the monsoons starting and will not have any services then.
