Grievance Description:
This complaint is regarding schedule and increase in coaches of 12111 CSTM AMRAVATI SUPERFAST Express. Its schedule is not suitable to a tag of SF train for several reasons:
(A) Its journey on three sections:
(1) Jalgaon-Bhusaval (Dist.: 24 km) is scheduled for 1 hr (Avg. speed: 24 km/hr);
(2) Murtizapur-Badnera (Dist.: 42 km) is scheduled for 1 hr (Avg. speed: 33 km/hr) and
(3) Badnera-Amravati (Dist.: 9 km) is scheduled for 35 min (Avg. speed: 15 km/hr). These speed ratings are not suitable for a SUPERFAST train.
(B) Several other SF trains overtakes 12111 on these sections. The overtakes are considerable by Premium trains like 12289 Nagpur Duronto Express, but overtake by other trains like 12101/12151/12129/12949 is not favorable. Many SF and Express cover the above mentioned sections in very less time compared to 12111. As passengers are paying SUPERFAST charges of Rs. 30 per passenger, these low speeds and such overtakes are purely an injustice to their money and time spent under a SUPERFAST tag.
Another point to be considered here that this is one of the most popular train on the CSTM-Amravati route and sees a heavy wait-list on almost all running days. Thus, there is a strong need to increase the coaches of this train.
In summary, I suggest and demand: (A) Reformation of 12111 schedule in a way so that it reaches AMRAVATI at around 6:30 or 7:00 am, which is quite possible by speed up on the JL-BSL and MZR-BD sections and avoiding overtakes. (B) Increase the number of SL and 3-AC coaches so that it should be a 24-coach train. Amravati Terminus can accommodate such trains. (C) Start 12289 Nagpur Duronto at 8:00 pm from CSTM and 12111 behind it at 08:15 pm.
Current Status: CASE CLOSED
Date of Action: 11 Dec 2015
Details: Reformation of new timings of 12111 CSTM Amravati Superfast Express is operationally not feasible due to platform constraints at Bhusawal and further path constraints. At present the average speed of this train is above 55 kmph between Amravati-CST Mumbai.
