Grievance...
more... Description:
This grievance is regarding the extension of two trains till AMRAVATI TERMINUS (CENTRAL RAILWAY). The trains are: (1) 17639/40 Kacheguda-Akola-Kacheguda Intercity Express (South Central Railway) and (2) 11025/26 Bhusaval-Pune-Bhusaval Express (Central Railway). Extension of these trains is feasibly possibly without altering their schedule. Amravati is the second largest city in Vidarbha region after Nagpur. The Amravati Terminus can occupy more trains but not being fully utilized to its capacity. Further, extension of these two trains will get a direct intercity links for daily passengers travelling to intermediate stations for work or education purpose. It is to be noticed that, there are no such convenient intercity trains running on this route and passengers have to travel by sleeper coaches of Mail/Express trains which adds to inconvenience to those passengers. Extension of these trains surely can reduce the load on Mail/Express trains running on this route. Looking at the huge number of travelers on this route, railways can surely earn profits.
Current Status: CASE CLOSED
Date of Action: 11 Dec 2015
Details: Extension of 17639/17640 is already sanction by Railway Board upto Narkher. Extension of 11025/11026 is not possible due to non-availability of path and rake.
