more... Nagpur-Kolkata. Recently survey committee visited Aurangabad railway station and central bust stand. They were provided with required information from SCR and MSRTC officials. Key features of the projects are as follows.
1. Combined project of IR and Spane Govt.
2. 4 mambers team is currently executing the survey. Survey will take 1.5 years to complete.
3. In Maharashtra route will be Mumbai-Boisar- Nashik-Aurangabad-Akola-Nagpur.
4. Mumbai to Nagpur line is planned to be constructed in 8 years.
5. Separate double line along with service stations will be built.
6. Alignment is planned in such way that hilly regions will provide minimum hurdle.
7. Other routes chosen are: Mumbai-Delhi, Mumbai-Kolkata, Mumbai-Chennai.
The time required to travel from Aurangabad to Mumbai and Nagpur will be 2 Hrs only.
