Booking Preference Tip.
If you have to travel from Delhi to Coastal Odisha , then your train availability searching priority should as: (For SL class)
1. Purushottam express (No doubt about this train;Book this as your 1st preference)
2. BBS Duronto express (only for Bhubaneswar people ; Punctuality is poor; But very safe and secure as no unreserved or daily travellers are allowed to

3. Odisha Sampark Kranti express (Puctuality is poor but its better bcoz NO unreserved or WL crowd boards this train due to Least halts in UP)
4. Nandan Kanan express (Better than neelanchal bcoz takes shorter route; punctuality is poor but seat availibility is better than Neelanchal)
5. Neelanchal Express (You will hardly get CNF seat in this train; Very demanded train as its the only train connecting Central UP with Odisha & puri)
6. Hirakund Express (Takes the shortest route; Good punctuality; but problem is its speed and total time taken; Huge number of halts and unreserved & Daily travellers board this in SL class)
7 ANVT BBS weekly express (Train best suited for Western Odisha; takes 2nd longest route and punctuality is poor ;Not much beneficial for coastal odisha)
8. Kalinga Utkal express (This should be the least preferred for travelling to coastal odisha; Very slow and heavy crowded throughout the route with Unreserved , WL and Daily travellers;Maintenance is below average;Takes the Longest route so that whole northern coastline of odisha is covered but still takes hell lot of time;Don't take SL class in this train unless have NO other option)
Now For AC classes,
Only opt Rajdhani or Purushottam. Getting seat in BBS rajdhani is easier and journey would be punctual.

SBP is divisional HQ. And bypassing a Divisional HQ by the home zone well demanded train is nearly impossible.
Labor unions and People of Sambalpur won't accept this kind of bypass.
JSG is very small as compared to SBP and bypassing it wont serve much of loss to Railways in comparison to Sambalpur.

The train will still serve the city albeit it will stop at sambalpur city halt.there are many examples in the past that it has been done. The sole garib rath train in secr bypasses zonal hq bilaspur and goes through usalapur to avoid lr.abkp durg exp was also diverted earlier. Well am not personally advocating any thing, just citing examples from.past. and it all depends upon ecor that how fast it completes electrification process.
Bypassed or not this still a very good train averaging 54 km speed despite so many halts. (except the avg cleanliness) and personally prefer it while going to delhi from bsp

This aggressive schedule specially between SBP-BSP makes it sometimes delayed while arriving BSP (45min to 1hr delay).
If JSG bypassing is done, then i think some slack can be provided.
ECoR won't bypass this train from SBP.

Totally agree to the point.
ECoR is giving ELoco for mere Puri to Talcher journey for Puri Durg Express, but this train is running with Diesel Loco all the way from VSKP to Talcher Fully electrified stretch.
