If this project gets green signal then SBC-CSTM can be done in below 20hrs, SBC gets connected to many historical, tourist part of Konkan regions like, Sawantwadi, Rathnagiri, Chiplun, Mangaon and many other regions.

Karnataka gets another opening to our coastal part other than our hassan-mangalore (which is of no use to passenegrs right now) route. This route brings everything to Karnataka which includes employment, tourism, freight movement, reduction in time, income etc etc

This rail line is one of Toughest task to be completed.
By Bus road journey travelling from Talaguppa-Joga-Honnavar via those "rotating" roads of western ghats is not a "piece of cake" for those travelling first time.
Adding more problems during monsoons which causes frequent landslides and forests falling apart.
If this line is to be completed , then a next "E Shreedharan" is...

required and also a very bulk amount of money , time and man power.
But still if IR can make Konkan railway and Braganza Ghats , then i feel this Talaguppa-Honnavar route can also be prepared.
Just a Political push is required alongwith Karnataka Govt's love towards Bangalore/Mysore is also to be reduced for making this project start.
