My mother & sister were supposed to return from Aligarh to delhi by Sikkim Mahananda Exp, train no. 15483 on 5th of april. That day, as most of the days, the train was running well behind the schedule and it was expected to arrive somewhere around midnight. The two ladies instead of waiting for 5 hours, left by road and reached home.
Since they informed me before leaving, I promplty filed the TDR at 20.09 hrs which is more that one hour and less than 2 hours (as required by the railway mandate).

But first my TDR was rejected saying I have not followed the mandate of time limit and a list of rules and regulations was sent to me.
I checked and found that everything was as per requirements from my side, so I mailed them again.
Then they gave me the reason, that the departure time was 11 a.m. and you filed TDR at 20.09hrs. Then I again told them that the departure time of the boarding station is to be taken into consideration and not of the source station.
Then I wrote to the zonal office from where a senior executive, Mr. Vats told me that the actual departure time of the train from Aligarh was 19.00 hrs(right time).
I have few quesstions, how could a train be on right time when it is never. Secondly why would my family leave the comfort of 2AC and travel by a local roadways bus and thirdly how could railways' record show the train on time when its not?
