What are the connectivity options from Howrah to other terminals of Kolkata? I presume direct buses are available to Sealdah. What about KOAA and Shalimar? Also, where the nearest metro and tram heads from HWH?

From HWH we have direct connections towards SHM-SRC-SDAH. for KOAA you have two ways to reach there -1) Go to SDAH and change BUS (Longest) 2)Cross HWH Bridge the take EMU heading towards KOAA (circular railway) (shortest).
For nearest metro station MG ROAD Metro station(Buses going towards Esplande).

Take any EMU going towards HWH[lots of them go, usually they come from KGP side], many long distance trains also stop here, they can also be taken. Sealdah lies on a different route and direct connectivity via rail isn't possible. One option is to take a train to HWH and board a direct bus for SDAH[There could be smaller road routes going from SRC to SDAH but I am not aware of that].

1-SHM
2-SDAH
3-SRC...

For KOAA you can reach via two routes
1-Go to SDAH then take EMU or you can take Bus (longest one).
2-Cross HWH Bridge then board EMU of circular railways*(STN-EDEN GARDENS/BARABAZAR)(Shortest path).
*Kindly confirm the schedule of EMU's before boarding.
