Railways has launched a facility to provide baby food at stations and items popular with children in running trains.
Named as Janani Sewa, the transporter will ensure availability of essential items like hot milk and water and baby food items at stations under the scheme. “We are introducing Janani Sewa to make mothers happy ,“ said railways minister Suresh Prabhu.
He said the initiative was taken after a complaint of a mother about the absence of milk at rail premises.
facility is being introduced at over 25 stations, including New Delhi, Mumbai Central, Howrah, Chennai, Nagpur, Pune, Surat, Lucknow and Moradabad.
