It all started with a phone call received at my home the Sender's voice was known, recognized within a few seconds that the call was from my village. As the Call ended we all were in deep Sorrow, My Uncle was no more, he was 89 when he passed away. 30mins later the Phone call we all were ready to rush out to pay last visit to him. Ticket were booked for late night flight, and we Reached CCU by 4AM (As far i can remember). From there we traveled to Katwa.

Now CUT to my return journey Day 17-04-2015, Time is the best healer. its 20 or 25 days after my uncle's death, we all were normal again, However Whatever is lost can't be recovered. We were waiting at BWN for 12379 it was a hot day, sun was at top + moist air. "Bahut hi bekar or boring lagta hai aisa mausam"!!
Whatever, Train arrived with a delay of 25mins, (Lo bhaiya yehi se delay suru) We entered the train to grab our seats it was near the back door of train, So lot's of unwanted peoples/movements was usual there, some URs were sitting on our seat, looking at our confident eyes they slide away. I got a window seat "luckily". Train started to pull out of the station and suddenly the weather flipped opposite, sky was full of bulky black clouds and super cool breezes were healing the damage done by the hot and humid weather, as train left the platform some precipitation started it was like BWN was bidding adieu to Me! :). Hardly it was 15mins past after the train left the Platform, Someone pulled the chain and added up in the delay. The Co-passengers were very weird their shirts was full of dirt and looking like they didn’t had shower for a long while; they were talking to each other in some rough language which was out of my knowledge, they were also throwing their squashed banana/banana peel here and there. One of them was TRYING to Gulp a bread slice in once, and guess what!!!... it choked, he coughed a lot sitting at his place, didn't moved a inch and finally vomited that bread piece on his seat. Yuck!!! Later they pulled out another bread slice and wiped that out!! urgghhh!! Isse to Bear Grylls ko bhi sharam aa jaye!!
later that, one of them tried to sleep by placing head on his friend's lap, and taking his feet out of the window. I warned him about the Risk but he didn't cared. Within all this the Train pulled into Asansol, Some Well behaved passengers joined us a Senior citizen, lady and his 2-3years old cute child. The Lady climbed up on our upper berth with her baby and tried to sleep!! Uncle (That senior citizen) sat with those Weird Duo and started conversation. Within their conversation those two misbehaved Passengers admitted that they were from some backward village of Assam (I don’t remember the name).
I was curious to know that what they were doing at Kolkata, and where they are going to? So i asked them, one of them answered with huge attitude that “We Own a Business at Kolkata and we are from we live in Assam, but we live in Kolkata and Kanpur, our ancestral home is in Assam but we were born at Kanpur, because our mother was from Kanpur later shifted to our ancestral home”. This statement cleared out two things, 1st that they don’t own any big business as their physical condition and behavior was telling that and secondly they were not friend but brothers.
Later that, those two Deboarded at DHN, and left their bread packet in train, they didn’t had any luggage with them. Strange! I thought they may go upto CNB but they deboarded at DHN
Now cut to night:- As I had my dinner (Food given in 12379 was good) I went to sleep, I prefer a upper berth for sleeping, but as UB was occupied by that lady I set the MB and tried to sleep, par sone ko kaha milega, berth ki side se aya thoda garam sa paani aur meri shirt ki baaju geeli ho gyi, I requested the upper berth lady to keep her hot water bottle tightly closed, but guess what!...... She felt into embarrassment and said “That was not water, but my child urinated there”.
Shit!! I rushed to wash basin to wash my shirt but there was no water in wash basin! I rushed to next coach and luckily got water there. When I returned to my berth I saw that lady had wiped out all the urine from my berth, and said “Koi baat nahi hota rehta hai” Maine Socha Apke saath common hoga mera to pehla experience hai! :/
Whatever, I slept and don’t know what else weird happened that night.
Next Day in morning I saw some new Passengers occupied the berth left over by those two misbehaved passengers. Uncle (Senior Citizen) was on top most berth and MB/LB was occupied by those new passengers.
I came down and picked out my tooth brush /paste and went to Wash basin for brushing, but what I see was again pathetic, with every jerk given by coach some water was splashing in our compartment, source of this water was choked and overflowing wash basin, The wash basin was choked with some chicken bones. However, later some staff members cleaned the compartment and fixed that choked wash basin. After that, only problem was the late running train, the train was frequently halting and crawling. Train was 3hrs late at MGS and till CNB it became 5hrs late.
Train pulled into CNB at 9:00AM sharp. I was thinking that what will be the status till delhi, and suddenly those new passengers offered me some fruit juice, but I refused to take and thanked them for their proposal, Then I asked them about their boarding station and they told SDAH, then I asked then where were you till night? and they said that they don’t have authorized ticket but a agent called “ARSHAD BHAI” managed seat for them and he also have understanding with on board TTE. I asked them that “what about checking at DLI, you will be easily caught there!” they burst into laugh and said “Wo kuch nahi karenge, Arshad bhai hume isi train ki UR ticket dilwa denge DLI tak, akhir humne confirm seat ke liye 400rs extra diye hai. As train started leaving platform 2 Youngsters came there handed over UR tickets to all of them and jumped down the train.
I thought that must be some contact of Arshad to manage UR tickets, I asked them about this, and I was right! Arshad calls his punters to book X amount of UR tickets before train enters CNB and when train enters CNB the tickets are distributed to various seats nos. A vigorous Ticket mafia network it was.
Now, coming back to point, the train gave awesome run post CNB and I got busy watching scenery outside. When Train was about to Reach Delhi and was crossing Jhuggis before DLI…. !!Chain Pulling!! This time a bulk of passengers got down (must be traveling WT). Later That, Train Somehow managed to Reach DLI with a delay of 4hrs 25mins. As Train Stopped at Platform of DLI Maine Utar kar Rahat ki saans li maine and looked back to my coach and remembering my 25hrs of struggle in that train. I decided not travel again by that train and left for my Home. But Who knows may be I have to travel again in this train.
