Grievance Description : To Railway Board, Subject:- WAP-7 locomotive for upcoming GKP ELS From the pg reply I got for my previous MORLY/E/2016/04185, it is clear that JHS wont be allotted WAP-7 locomotives any sooner for trains like Pushpak Express, Sant Kabir Dham Express, Kushinagar Express, etc. Lucknow-Gorakhpur section of North-Eastern Railway will soon be electrified. Now, NER till date was a complete diesel hauled zone with no Electric Loco Shed under it. In such conditions, After the electrification of GKP-LJN section, Railway Board is requested to specially provide 3phase locomotive training to NER/GKP helping them to shed WAG-9 firstly and soon they should be able to shed WAP-7. Sant Kabir Dham, Kushinagar Express etc use WAP-7 of CR, when CR themselves have only 15 WAP-7 locomotives only. Many other CR trains need WAP-7 like 24 coach Pushpak, Vidarbha, Sevagram, etc
Current Status : CASE CLOSED
Date of Action : 08 Jul 2016
Details : Since, production of conventional tap changer locomotives has been stopped, sufficient no. of three phase locomotives will be provided to Gorakhpur electric loco shed in NER and training of staff will be planned as and when required.

Yes ofcourse, GZB WAP-5 are getting old and are less reliable. lol, I have already heard such stupid rumours abt the oldest original ABB P5 being derated to 110 kmph.
On contrary, those locos are still fit and r hauling Gatimaan @160 kmph. 30007 was used in inaugural run. right?
Also, the first loco to enter Mumbai, after ac conversion in WR was 30001.
And
...
also for Bhopal Shatabdi @150Kmph, they are used even today.
Even the old wap6 turned wap4 locos are given more often to sealdah duronto, howrah-ndls/cst duronto.
I dont think so being old makes the loco unreliable until they are actually derated from 130 kmph to 110 Kmph like the GZB P1 which have got derated recently. Otherwise, they too have hauled Rajdhani @130 kmph n were as good as wap4.
GZB P5, be it old or new are always preffered, be it gatimaan, Shatabdi@150 kmph. And also the talgo testing would be done using them as they are expected to get first HOG P5. Even Mued WAP-5 was given to them from BRC, for testing that also failed.
As mentioned by you yourself, SCR restricts WAP-5 for 110 Kmph and SR restricts it for 100 kmph with the Rajdhani trains. Ofcourse, WAP-4 or WAP-7 become clear preferable option. Instead of GZB, which used to give any link according to the availability as mentioned, i.e WAP4/5/7, LGD could provide a fixed link, Which it does nicely. Precisely, GZB is under pressure providing links for NR n East bounds trains.
And there is a big difference in the distance travelled by Jat Rajdhani (577 Km), LKO Shatabdi (512 km), ALD Duronto (632 Km), on one side and that by BCT Rajdhani (1385 Km), HWH Rajdhani (1450 Km), Mas Rajdhani (2175 Km), DBRT Rajdhani (NDLS-BJU 1119 Km) etc on the other side.
For 20 coach JAT Raj n LKO Sht too, WAP-5 is not a fixed link WAP-7 is given as well. Reason, is already discussed. NR gives any link that is available and why not ? Jat Raj is of NR, NDLS JAT sec is fully of NR, then JAT Rajdhani is a short distance train , with enough slack i.e the timetable is not aggressive (110 mps), it is ok if WAP5 is given. If they can give JAT Rajdhani, Even for ASR/BCT Shatabdi, reasons are similar.
It is very likely that even for 18 coach RNC Raj, WAP7 will be made regular, once BCT n AK Rajs start using their own BRC HOG P7. As BBS Raj despite being just 16 coach like MAO Raj, WAP7 was fixed for it.
Same way for 18 coach TVC/ 16 coach MAO Rajdhani, too TKD/BRC P7 might be fixed like that of Pune Duronto.

Mentioning separately about Mumbai Rajdhani incident. I know you wont have a answer for that. hence, you termed it as controversial.
About Rajdhani trains especially BCT/HWH, their schedule and links are specially taken care of. For HWH Rajdhani, when the GMO P7 had caused problems several times, immediately, the link was changed to GZB P7 in 2011 and GMO WAP7 were discontinued.
Similarly, in 2011 itself, WAP7 was regular link for 18 coach BCT Rajdhani and WAP-5 was regular with 17 coach AK Rajdhani.
Then,
...
after ac conversion in BCT/WR in 2012, P5 was again made regular link for Mumbai Rajdhani, until 2014, this wheel slipping had happened and immediately, the link was changed to P7.
Rajdhani requires 130 mps loco to maintain it's schedule, be it WAP4/5/7. Now just look at what is written. Train took extra time in WR n WCR high speed sections since wheel slip occurred due to drizzling rain on up gradient of 1:200 and max. permissible speed of 130 kmph could not maintained. There was no trouble in loco. Earlier this train took 16" extra in RTM-NAD section of WR due to same reason. No loco trouble (Load-21 Coaches).
No. of coaches have increased i.e to 20-21 + unexpected drizzling weather in the month of January.
This problem doesnt look rectified yet as WAP-5 are not made regular, even with AK Raj. At 130 mps itself, WAP5 has a tough time hauling 21 load and then you people saying WAP5 are becoming old n unreliable and still mention about high demand.
Besides that, BRC has showed interest in HOG WAP7 too. And it is very likely that those HOG WAP7 wud be given to their Rajdhani trains as regular links.

Yes. ofcourse. you only know everything about it n others stay in fool paradise isnt it?
anyways, you continue with your never ending WAIT of HWH WAP-5, for which I have already got a reply recently from ER.
Soon, a reply for/frm SCR/CR too is expected, will show that too.
From ER's reply too, its evident, that 130 mps is given by both
...
WAP-5 n WAP-7, n they are preffering WAP-7 currently, finding no need to shed wap5 until in future, enhancement of speed is done in HWH NDLS section. so, it clear for 110 mps trains n also 130 mps Rajs, wap-4 and wap-7 are there. If speed upgradations are done, then only wap-5 migh come in picture.
Grievance Description : Subject:- WAP-5 locomotive for ER zone. There is extreme crowd in allotment of WAP-7 locomotives. as a result of which only few wap-7 could be allotted to HWH ELS of ER. In such a case, WAP-5 locomotive can be tried to be shed in HWH ELS by transferring HWH WAP-4 to Asansol or to shed WAP-5 in Asansol ELS itself. WAP-5 is an high speed locomotive. ER/ECR section of dankuni-dhanbad-mgs is 130 kmph fit and soon upgradation is expected. Even the Asansol-PNBE-MGS section is soon getting upgraded from 110 kmph mps to 130 kmph mps. Hence, for such high speed zone, and huge no of trains, few WAP-7 wont be enough. In such case, WAP-5 locomotive should be shed in one of ER ELS Asansol or HWH.
Current Status : CASE CLOSED
Date of Action : 28 Mar 2016
Details : Allotment of locomotives to shed is done by Railway Board on requirement basis.Electric loco shed , Howrah has 19 nos. WAP-7 locomotives which haul mail/express trains including prestigious trains like Rajdhani Duroto . During the current year 2015-16, Railway Board has already allotted 04 nos. more WAP-7 locomotives to Electric Loco Shed, Howrah which will be used to haul more new trains and diesel to electric traction converted trains.it may be noted that both the locomotives viz. WAP-7 WAP-5 are hauling trains maximum up to a speed of 130KMPH between Howrah and New Delhi. If in future any enhancement of speed of train is done, suitable loco will be provided by Railway Board to required loco sheds.
