Some things to keep in mind while vising Vaishno Devi and alighting at SVDK ..
if arriving at SVDK by shri shakti , this train arrives svdk mostly before time ...escalators will be on , so take the escalators to go to station complex.
to take a cloak room, there are 2 cloak room in the complex , one run by IR and
the other by IRCTC ..the IR one is on the ground floor on the left hand side before restrooms ...this will remain closed when Shri shakti arrives ..dont panic
there is another Cloak Room on the 1st floor , this opens at around 6 to 6:15 ..so just wait for it to open ...one can sit in the waiting hall on 1st floor or in the waiting area of the irctc lounge ..
the cafeteria of IRCTC on 1st floor is not good ..tea cost rs 20 and it is not worth Rs 2 even ....lifts to go to 1st floor dont work , so u have to deal with luggage yourself...
if you want a quick wash or bio break , the dormitories normally remain vacant , and see if no one is seeing one can easily enter and have a quick wash ..the dormitories are kept really clean ...
if going to take helicopter , make sure u wait after the rush has subsided , auto will go in rs 100 , normally they ask for 150 ...
if going to pf # 2 and # 3 , make sure to take left hand side over bridge as this one has easy ramps and hence it is more comfortable ..
