Before operating 160kmph trains on the super saturated NDLS-BCT/HWH routes, the section capacity have to be increased.
Even with a speed differential of just 20kmph (130 vs 110), Raj expresses are overtaking a large number of M/E/SF/Passenger/Freight trains. When operated at 160kmph, the speed differential shall increase to 2.5 times i.e. 50kmph. The number of trains standing on loop lines to give through path to these Rajs shall increase drastically. Net result shall be higher avg speed of these few 160kmph trains and lower of average speeds of several other trains which shall be overtaken.
