A video clip showing a teenager falling from a Churchgate-bound train while performing a stunt has gone viral. The Government Railway Police (GRP) said that the accident, which probably took place a few days ago, was not reported to them.
The Churchgate GRP officials are now trying to trace the first person who uploaded the video clip, which shows the around 18-year-old, wearing a red t-shirt, denim and a pair of sandals, falling from the train just before Grant Road station.
GRP officials said that the accident took place between Charni Road and

Grant Road stations and there were a few friends with him, who shouted ‘gaya’ when the unidentified boy doing stunts fell from the train. However, the sequence of events after the fall is still a mystery.
The police suspect that the boy survived since no hospital has contacted them to inform of a death taking place in their jurisdiction, which is a mandatory procedure. Also, there are no unclaimed bodies matching the boy’s description or spot of incident, on record with the GRP.
“There are 13 unclaimed bodies of accidental death in Churchgate GRP’s jurisdiction in 2016. However, all are in their 40s. Only one is a teenager, but with a blue t-shirt, unlike what is seen in the video. Seeing the way he fell, it seems he probably survived, but sustained grievous injuries to his lower body,” said senior inspector Satish Shivarkar of the Churchgate GRP.
GRP officials said that they have not put anything on record as of now as there is no confirmation on his death. The source of the video is being probed for further action.
At least 11 people die every day in railway accidents and an equal or more number of people survive with grievous injuries.

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...

The modification to the TL Update scheme - i.e. the introduction of the new RAC System - has led to some efficiency with TL Updates. More TLs are being discussed, and quickly moved up. However, we still have on Average, about 300 Waitlisted TLs in the backlog at any time, and our hard-working and diligent TLMs...
