Reportedly, Uber has been in talks with Indian Railways to offer an integrated ride hailing service to rail passengers via the Indian Railways’ website and app. It’s quite an innovative strategy, as millions of rail users who commute daily are targeted.
If Railways and Uber sign the deal, customers will get to book for pick-up and drop, as and when they book the tickets or later. This could be helpful to reach the railway station in time. It is also beneficial for those who have to drive their own cars to the station but have no one else to bring their cars back home.

a cab is normally hailed in such situations, the integrated cab hailing service will also be of benefit to such rail passengers. Besides booking for cab on the website and app, Uber will also install kiosks in railway stations from where cab could be hailed.
In return, Uber will also offer its technological prowess and expertise to perform some improvements in the Indian Railways app. The Railway network will also earn about Rs. 150 crore annual revenue in commissions via the cabs booked. The revenue will also come through the space leased out to Uber for setting up the kiosks in some of the major stations throughout India.
Uber is likely to begin offering the service in metro cities followed by which it might offer the service in more number of cities and other territories. The exact number of cities Uber will cover has not been disclosed yet by the service provider.

SWR's tie up with KSRTC/ Private bus lobby should be dispensed away with for any fruitful development of rlys in Karnataka.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...
