Patna: The East Central Railway (ECR) will soon start running weekly Patna-Bandra Humsafar Express (22913/22914), Sealdah- Jammu Tavi Humsafar Express (22317/22318), Jaynagar-Udhna (Gujarat) Anondya Express (15563/15564) and Darbhanga-Jallandhar Anondya Express (15567/15568 ), said ECR GM D K Gayen. The new trains were announced in the rail budget this year.
Gayen said the timings of these trains would be announced soon so that people could book their journey tickets in advance. Gayen said the number of passengers travelling from ECR zone has increased manifold. ECR has recorded about 7.49 lakh passengers travelling per day from its all five divisions, which is 3.56% higher compared to 2015-2016 fiscal. Taking note of safety measures, the GM said railways had converted four vulnerable crossing gates into road overbridges (ROBs) at Patna Saheb, Danapur, Begusarai and Hajipur. There are 147 sanctioned ROBs in the ECR, out of which 20 of them have been thrown open so far. The state government is likely to contribute its share money for 59 ROBs in Bihar, he said.
