HYDERABAD: Chances of metro rail extending up to Begumpet on the Nagole-Mettuguda stretch have brightened with South Central Railway (SCR) authorities agreeing for a Road Overbridge at Oliphanta in Secunderabad and even a legal hurdle getting cleared.
HMR authorities said demolition of the Padmahamsa apartments was completed after winning a four-year-old legal battle and compensation of `9.50 crore paid to the owners of 24 flats and 12 shops in the apartments.

has been a major hurdle for the metro rail project. The legal case filed by the residents in 2010 has finally been wrapped up and the new development is likely to bring the metro rail up to Begumpet at the time of roll out.
"HMRL acquired the affected block `A ' of the complex a couple days ago and demolished it now to make way for the metro rail alignment. Also the contentious issue of payment of `traffic block charges' to the railways is also being amicably sorted out and metro RoB works will resume in the next few days, the metro rail authorities said in a statement "With the acquisition of Padmahamsa complex and recommencement of Alugaddabavi Oliphenta, and other RoBs, Hyderabad Metro project will be fast-tracked now and the prospects of extending the `ready to be commenced' Nagole-Mettuguda section of corridor III up to Begumpet by mid next year have brightened," said managing director, HMRL, NVS Reddy .

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...
