Chief minister Raghubar Das will flag off a special train for Maltipatpur (in Puri district) from Tatanagar station on Friday as a part of Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana.
The train will carry 1,000 senior citizens, both men and women from the BPL category, from all the three Kolhan districts - East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela Kharsawan.
Confirming the development, deputy development commissioner of East Singhbhum Binod Kumar on Tuesday said the selection of the pilgrims had been made from various blocks of the three districts.

have allowed 500 senior citizens, who live below the poverty line, from East Singhbhum. Around 300 of them are from West Singhbhum while the rest have been selected from Seraikela-Kharsawan district," Kumar said.
Railway officials informed that the train for the pilgrims would leave Tatanagar on November 18 (Friday) at 9.05pm. It will reach Maltipatpur in Puri at 12.15pm the next day.
On its return journey, the pilgrim special will leave Maltipatpur on November 20 (Sunday) at 11.30pm and is scheduled to arrive at Tatanagar at 3.15pm on Monday.
"The special train will arrive at Tatanagar from Ranchi in a day or two," said Tatanagar station manager O.P. Sharma, adding that they were taking all necessary measures for the safety and security of passengers who wouldn't be inconvenienced in any way.
The train will travel via Chakradharpur, Rourkela, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Angul and Khurdah Road stations before reaching its destination.
"There will be no special medical facility on board for the passengers, but support will be provided at halt stations if needed. The devotees will be accompanied by guides and paramedics in Puri," Sharma added.
The state government had signed an MoU with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation in September to kick-start the unique project, which allows the elderly to visit religious sites at state expense.
The first such train under this scheme, carrying 1,000 pilgrims to Puri, was flagged off by chief minister Raghubar Das from Hatia station near Ranchi on Saturday.

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...

The modification to the TL Update scheme - i.e. the introduction of the new RAC System - has led to some efficiency with TL Updates. More TLs are being discussed, and quickly moved up. However, we still have on Average, about 300 Waitlisted TLs in the backlog at any time, and our hard-working and diligent TLMs...
