BHOPAL: In view of Indore-Patna train tragedy claiming 146 lives, including 29 from Madhya Pradesh, the railway authorities of Bhopal Division are likely to receive detailed instructions from the railway board, emphasising on working towards achieving zero-accident target to make the journey safe.
Describing the loss of lives as incalculable, senior divisional commercial manager railways, Bhopal division, Brajendra Kumar, said they are soon going to receive detailed instructions for fool-proof system in train operation to achieve zero-accident target. "We will be receiving fresh set of instructions from board in a day or two. The instructions will be specifically about safety and security measures," Kumar told TOI.
While we all agree that safety measures need to be enhanced, somehow the railways seem to be missing one point which is reducing the number of WL tickets issued. There were many reports that said that the trains were running well beyond their capacity due to the presence of a large number of wait listed passengers.
