GM also visited the en route railway stations, Meenakshipuram and Subbegoundenpudur, and took stock of the passenger amenities.
Mr. Johri said that majority of the gauge conversion work on the Podanur - Pollachi section was getting delayed only because of the difficulties in eliminating the rocky terrain for six km between Kinathukkadavu and Mayileripalayam.
He said that the works would be completed by January and the report would be sent to enable the inspection by Commissioner of Rail Safety in February.
Mr. Johri also promised to take steps to bring in Passenger Reservation System counter facility at the Pollachi Junction.

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...

The modification to the TL Update scheme - i.e. the introduction of the new RAC System - has led to some efficiency with TL Updates. More TLs are being discussed, and quickly moved up. However, we still have on Average, about 300 Waitlisted TLs in the backlog at any time, and our hard-working and diligent TLMs...
