This 22 coached daily intercity is one huge train. If travelling unreserved, always try to reach to reach the front end of the train. Due to sheer length of the train most passengers never go to the front end of the train and pile up at the rear....
Thus quite a few handful of seats remain vacant at HWH!
However in following stations like Sheoraphulli and Bandel whose platform lengths are shorter than this 22 coached intercity, the reverse happens and the passengers load up at front...
by BDC the entire train gets fully filled up :)
In the BWN-DGR stretch this train is more crowded than a local train inspite of having 17 GS Coaches!
Tips 1 :- If boarding at HWH and try that preferably, board positively at front....
Tips 2 :- If you are boarding at SHE & BDC try the same although I can assure you that your chances will be much reduced due to the expertise of the daily passengers!

Back in those days.....
1. Black Diamond was a Express train .
2. Coalfield didn't have RSA and had a 1 AC coach.
3. Mayurakshi indeed ran via chord with an unofficial halt at Khanna and not Liluah if I remember correctly.
Agnibeena was called Bidhan.......
And finally
5. Nokia 1100 and 1600 used to rule the roost back in those days :P

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...

The modification to the TL Update scheme - i.e. the introduction of the new RAC System - has led to some efficiency with TL Updates. More TLs are being discussed, and quickly moved up. However, we still have on Average, about 300 Waitlisted TLs in the backlog at any time, and our hard-working and diligent TLMs...
