Dec 13 2016 (07:45)   SpiceJet takes passengers for a ride

SpiceJet has taken its passengers for a ride recently, according to some people who travelled to Vizag from Hyderabad and Mumbai.
A nine-member group from Hyderabad to Vizag missed their flight and had a harrowing experience.
“We booked our tickets to attend a wedding reception in Vizag last week. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 6 p.m. but we did not get any SMS about the advancement of the flight. We missed the flight, and when I approached the person at the airport counter of SpiceJet, he argued that communication was sent,”

says E. Karthik of Hyderabad.
“We had to put up at a relatives home at KPHB Colony for the night and travel by train to Vizag the next day. I called up the airline’s customer care centre the next day and they too tried to pass the buck. I told him that I would obtain a record of all the SMS s received on my mobile from the service provider for the past one month.”
“The customer care executive, perhaps, realised the gravity of the issue and directed me to contact another higher-level official in the customer care. He too tried to put the blame on us saying that the SMS s were sent.
He finally agreed to refund the entire ticket amount as a ‘goodwill gesture’ after some dilly-dallying,” says Mr. Karthik.
“We told our experience to our another relative, who was supposed to travel from Mumbai to Vizag by SpiceJet the following day. He too did not receive any communication though the flight was advanced to 1 p.m. ,” he said.
The airline officials should realise that apart from passengers missing their appointments and having to suffering inconvenience for no fault of theirs, the credibility of their airline would be at stake.
Notwithstanding the spate of complaints to the Railway Ministry about the conversion of the Visakhapatnam – Yeshvantpur Tatkal special, operated by the South Western Railway (SWR) on Twitter, into a Suvidha special, the Bhubaneswar-based East Coast Railway (ECoR) seems to be not ‘interested’ in promoting this train, said rail users.
When passengers approached the booking counter at Visakhapatnam on Sunday (Dec 11) to buy tickets for this train to go to Tirupati, the counter clerk declined to give tickets.
The passengers, who were in a hurry to go to Tirupathi, approached an ATVM operator and obtained a general ticket and went to the current reservation counter but they were not given berths, though a few berths were available in 3rd AC. Rail users complained to the Railway Ministry on Twitter that no announcement of this train was being made and there were no boards displayed at the railway station about the availability of this special train. The Waltair Division officials came up with a clarification that manual announcement was being made due to technical problems, the rail users said.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...

It has been over 2 weeks since the appointment of the current batch of FMs and 750 Complaints have been handled so far. It gives me immense pleasure in congratulating them for running the team diligently, professionally, competently and above all, without a shred of controversy or bias. The FM position...
