A CR official against whom an FIR has been registered by the CBI for illegal exchange of old notes has neither been suspended nor transferred.
On December16, the CBI had registered a case against assistant commercial manger KL Bhoyar under the prevention of corruption act. CBI officials said they had communicated to railway officials about the case and had sent them a copy of the FIR. They said that generally the department concerned--in this case, the railways--takes a decision to suspend or transfer the officials facing a probe to ensure that she does not influence evidence. “We have informed the railways and they should take required action against Bhoyar,“ said a CBI officer.
