really sad to know. Politicians are least bothered. Virar-Bandra elevated corridor is still 10 years away. Out of the box thinking is the need of the hour to stop deaths on tracks.
I think to increase the services during peak hours, TT of long distance trains need to be changed such that they do not enter the suburban area between Virar-BCT between 7 am to 10.30 am in the morning so that all 4 tracks may be used for suburban trains.

Mumbai locals especially the Virar locals are death traps. Multiple deaths is a regular feature on Mumbai locals and continue to be so unless the elevated and underground railway construction projects are taken up on war footing and commissioned at the earliest without any political interference. Another technocrat like Sreedharan is urgently needed.
