I fully agree. As this post is on Hassan line, I did not elaborate. For running a train from MAQ to GR/BAY/BJP, non availability of this line is not the reason. For recovering huge investment made, rlys should run more trains and not introduce any new hurdles.
To get more acceptability of a train linking SBC-Hassan area towards coastal Karnataka, can we insist a train from SBC to Ratnagiri/ Sawantwadi via Hassan, majn?

So many NH laid for several crores of Rupees without return .Like that this is also one.Southern Railway also invested several crores of rupees in Manamadurai to Virudhunagar GC and only one train 6 days a week and one weekly express operated. Very much Under utilized section.
Similarly SWR gives this section as Under Utilized section. That's all .

Under utilized for pax trains. If you visit HAS or SKLR station, you will see freights one after another. SWR are very well utilizing these ghats routes, but only for freights.
