Udupi Station has only some light refreshment stalls on PF 1. PF2 has only a small strip of shelter like a village R.S.
The station is slightly on an elevated level. There is an elevator to reach the car park from just outside PF 1.
A small budget lodge and an eatery is there just behind tourist car park. Udupi city centre is about 4 kms from the station and Udupi-Manipal highway is about half a km away.

auto facility seems to be there, although I am not sure if it functions effectively.
The display of coach position is interesting at the notice board. It does not show position of coaches from engine and direction. Instead it shows a coach will stop at the number where it is displayed. For example in our train 22475, engine was at number 24 on the platform, where it stopped. Our coach was 10th from engine. The display notice mentioned A1 would be where 14 number is on the platform. Bit confusing for non regular passengers.
There are just one or two porters at the station who normally show up only before a train is scheduled to arrive. Unless, we request the station staff to call him over his cell phone.
