Again IR is heading for one more disaster called the UDAY which ironically means "rise" especially pertaining to something good because of following facts/reasons:
(1) Best way to use ACDD coaches in large number is to attach such coaches in highly patronised intercity trains. Some ACDD coaches should be attached to LKO shatabdi, LHBfied Gomti etc to facilitate ACDD travel between Delhi & Lucknow instead of having special ACDD train.
(2) Overnight journey in ACDD coaches shall be a very poorly patronised as ACDD seats are very inconvenient as compared to ACIII berths...
more... which costs just slightly more.
(3) ACDD seats are inconvenient as compared to normal ACC seats and also costs lesser to IR, so the benefits should be passed on to customers also instead of attempting to earn huge profit. i.e. Fare of ACDD seats should be kept lesser than normal ACCC seats (by 10-25%). This step could make the ACDD trains popular and we can see 22 coach ACDD trains operating on IR network ,instead of present ones with just 10-16 coaches.
