TRIP REPORT: Poorva Express (NDLS-BWN, 1/7/2016) /diary/trip/86999 (Going to be a multiple part report)
It was a much-awaited trip for me as a traveler and as an RF. It was my first trip in any LHB 130Kmph SF so excitement was justified with another good reason. I was all set for the ride and was praying that may BSB-MGS section not make much of pain for me as some track work was going on there (near janghai) which made UP Poorva horribly late (That time 12381 used to be very punctual, reason we all know), in addition to all these, one more thing was haunting me.. that was of DN Poorva being rescheduled, as UP one was much delayed and...

still not at NDLS. Many of RFs here in IRI was also discussing rescheduling of DN Poorva which was only making me anxious and often with sweating episodes which were soon being overshadowed by the excitement of the journey. Within all these mood transitions the clock ticked 2 and I checked NTES, knowing that 12382 is going to be rescheduled for sure but NDLS was about to surprise me showing a completely unexpected thing, DN Poorva Wasn't rescheduled!! Firstly I thought NTES is doing what it does the best.. 'Drunk Reports' but the report turned to be correct when I realized it with my own eyes at NDLS @1515HRS. The same rake (which came with 12381) was about to depart from platform only (Pic 1). I did a bit of inspection and found that only loco was detached(Pic 2) and HWH P4 22336 was about to take charge of Poorva that day, that day something very rare happened at NDLS, the coupling of Loco at Platform (Pic 3)!! which is a very rare thing to see at NDLS. Now it was time to grab my seat which was the window seat in moving direction of the train, as I told before that rake was made to depart from the platform so no maintenance was done only normal cleaning was performed in SL coaches. At 1615hrs, The journey started with a jerk of LHB(Pic 4) which provided some relief from the continuous heat waves which we were suffering from, at NDLS. As we were speeding up (i must say P4 acceleration was amazing) The King came honking with HWH 30311(Pic 5) and some sort of Parallel overtake was happening, King was taking us out but finally it ended with a stop of both the trains, 12302 was being placed at platform hence it stopped but I don't know why Poorva was made to stop, chain pulling might be the answer.
