Date Of Journey:- 14th May 2017
Returning back to Pune and now this time in a Passenger Train. Being fully UR and having all stops, this passenger got 100% occupancy at Karjat itself. But slowly. PA KJT Pass arrived KJT at 14:30 and that time it was empty by the next min. Next 5 mins, around 30/40% train was occupied and 15Mins before leaving it was 100% (Maybe 101% or 102%...).
I arrived Karjat at 14:21 itself and went to book my self a ticket worth Rs.70/- for Karjat to Pune. I

was standing in the queue when train arrived, such was the length of the line. When I reached PF to board the train, each and every track side window was occupied which just simply disappointed me since that was my main objective of this journey (As a railfan). Nevertheless, I kept my bag up the rack and stood near door with my cam till departure of the train.
Karjat Station is full of hustle and bustle when local is about to arrive. Somehow I tried to spot Hubli LTT hauled by an offlink 40330/KJM. Few moments later,14812/CLA+14695/CLA both LHF skipped KJT hauling a CONCOR Rake towards PNVL. It was around 15:00 and huge crowd was all set to attack the Mumbai CST Bound local which was late by massive minutes, since there is no local bound to CST from KJT at 15:00, one local arrives at 15:04 but it is not possible due to Megablock. People on PF didn't even let those guys onboard local to de-board. Few of them were with luggage struggling to make their way out of the train. Few where to board the Passenger, maybe that's why my passenger left delayed by 5 Mins.
15:15 and my train left Karjat hauled by WCAM 3 21899. Yup, this is one the few trains which lost the diesel/ALCo charm. Previously it was hauled by PA ALCo, maybe 1 or 2 times or maybe more than that, it got EMD. My train was pushed by 3 KYN WAG 7 bankers. Changing track by track, we joined MainLine and WCAM 3 with his buddies WAG 7s started to show their Power. From 30 to 50 in 11 secs (Total and poor estimation). Scene was awesome and one can even see Songiri Mountain <3 (Pic No.1) . There is one S Curve which looks beautiful specially from window/door seat. (Pic No.2)We reached Palasdhari and took 1.12Mins halt and then departed. And now need for introduction... There starts the heavenly Bhor Ghats. And this time, Bhor Ghats in brilliant Sun Light. A brilliant view of Songiri Mountains from near is awesome (Pic No.3/4). We were riding down (Actually up :P) track No.1 which had numerous small tunnels in route. There comes a point where all 3 tracks take their own route which is just awesome. Track No.1 goes left, Track No.2 goes straight and Track No.3 goes right. Scenery outside was brilliant. As if I was on the top of the world :P.
15:34 we Jambrung Cabin (Pic No.5). Cabin was guarded by 2 trees and Master G and his Assistant exchanging green flag with us. It was quite a peaceful area, I guess Master Saheb and his assistant was having a good time serving their duty (Maybe or maybe not). Though we didn't halt here, neither for brake test. We continued our journey and spotted a beautiful mountain and below there was a bridge, not sure whether it was the 3rd Line or something else. Our 1st line was no where around it but later took a sharp curve towards the bridge. Still we didn't make it. Only a daytime journey through it will give the answer.
Coming back to 1st Line, there were again numerous tunnels with small cuts b/w consecutive curve tunnels. Got few though failed shots (Pic No.6/7/8). 2nd Line now was with us but still there were no crossings, not even bankers descending the grades. Maybe they take the 3rd line while going KJT. IDK.
15:40 and we reached Thakurwadi were few passengers de-boarded the train, same amount of people boarded the train while sellers changed their coach. Thakurwadi Cabin too looked cool (Pic No.9) surrounded by tress and mighty mountains in background. I guess during rains it will look excellent but at the same time more dangerous. 3rd Line is now completely isolated from us. No worries I have my friend 2nd line with me to march the ghats along with beautiful sceneries and curves surrounded by tress (Pic No.10/11). There were few S Curves on the way. What less you'll find is the distance of straight and open tracks (Pic No.12). Now Somewhere around Pole Marker No.116/15A, crossed the first train..... Actually a twin light engines going back Karjat (Pic No.13). Still slightly mistimed it (Bad Luck). And now the curves where never ending type. More and more curves along with tunnels (Pic No.14) Stepping into darkness as sun starts to fade. Smell inside this tunnel was so good (Hope so I'm not only the one =D), I wished train just waited here for atleast a moment. Never Mind
15:51 Monkey Hill with not a single monkey to be spotted. Here we took secs halt. Monkey Hill Cabin (Pic No.15) was as same as other 2 cabins, located at very beautiful place, very peaceful and charming. Spotted gangmen moving down the line along with a official (Maybe SSE). Behind is one sharp mountain which looks simply WOOOWWW. Wished if there were some monkeys to be spotted.... Scenes post Monkey Hill (Pic No.16/17) 2nd crossing of the day WCAM 3 twins descending the grade as my Passenger enters tunnel. This tunnel was bit closer to coach in comparison with past ones. Still tried to take a long exposure shot (Of course a failed one, Pic No. 18). Ya, ya I admit I'm not a good photographer, but the civil engineer had photographed few tunnels beautifully in his mind and presented them. Tunnels here were well designed and maintained as well (Pic No. 19). Tried taking a scenery pic but was unable all hail the passenger and his mentality, washing her hand outside the window of moving train when wash basin was just 10 steps behind her (Slow claps for her)
15:57 and we reach Khandala were we were greated by WCAM 3 hunks with their headlights on (Pic No.20). Here we took a brief halt of 3 mins. The amount of passengers were same. Only few hawkers got onboard. View of Mountains from Khandala station was brilliant. Huge, green bushes surrounding the view with brown mountains in Background was fantastic. Now we left KAD 15:39 after a long duration of crawling, it was time to unleash the power. WCAM 3+3 WAG 7s at rear pulled/pushed the train hard to around 80KMPH. One WAG 9 with BCHNL and 1 WAG 7 with BTPN were at some siding. Reached LNL 16:06 were we took 6 mins long halt to remove bankers. Now WCAM 3 was alone and it was time to show what it is capable of... Left LNL 16:12, joined mainline and now it was aggressive WCAM 3 who showed his anger after crawling a lot. We were at constant 90 (Approx). It feels good after crawling a lot and now you are at MPS, MPS crossings n all. Somewhere b/w LNL and Malavli crossed PA JP hauled by 30050/BRC. Reached Malavli 16:21, took a halt of just 10 secs and left. The Sprawling view of mountains was just brilliant. Mountains followed all the way from LNL to Kanhe. There were less crossings in PA DIV have to admit that. Maybe that's why their locals are punctual. Crossed only 3 locals till pune (Pic No.21) WCAM 3 took less than 30 secs to gain MPS after exiting loop lines at speed of 20KMPH. Departed Talegaon 16:50 where we crossed 21931 hauled Udyan, another train which lost its diesel/EMD Charm. CST to DD and vice versa, it gets WCAM 3. There is one beautiful split line post Talegaon (Pic No.22) which reminds of my home zone stn Khardi/KE which has the same tracks but with height difference. Now crossings frequency increased and this time crossed 70516/UBL hauled CSMT-CSTM Koyna Express. Sadly this was my first spotting of the UBL WDG 4D and I forgot to take the pic even though I had my camera in my hand. Nevermind, tired of stopping at every station, Begdewadi 16:59 skip made me feel good :). My Happiness increased to a great extent when I overtook a train at Dehu Road <3 <3... It was 14927/KZJ(Shed not sure)+141xy/KZJ hauled CONCOR Rake (Overtake is Overtake, let it be freight or light engine :P).
17:09 or maybe 17:11 Akurdi departed, due to brake pressure parting out. Stn Staff quickly rectified it and we were moving. At the same time crossed 13359/PA hauled PA TEN Express at outer. Behind it crossed another EMU which looking quite weird. We reached Chinchwad 17:14 and now... it was time give some precedence to other train. 11389/KYN Hauled Chennai Express Overtook us at Chinchwad, thus we took a halt of 11Mins at CCH (Pic No.23). When starter was given, 21952 hauled TVC CST crossed, which is kinda sad, crossing trains which lost their diesel link. Yup, TVC CST was once hauled by Diesel. Post Pimpri suburban section started. It was middle class buildings which looked very classic and beautiful as well.
Crossed Dapodi and traversed through the Great Harris Bridge. Reached Shivaji Nagar at 17:51 where I overtook 23665+23669/BL with BCHNL. Amount of slack given to this train was weird. SVJR to PA 2KMs in 43Mins _/\_. That means as soon as we left SVJR, we were running BT, and you guys know what happens to a BT Running train. Yes, you guessed it right, made to halt at Station outer. We took 10Mins halt at PA Stn outer were my last crossing 21878 with ICE as few children stare at me thinking what the hell is that guy doing? (Pic No.24) Few PA Derated WDM 3A were working in the yard, shunting the rakes. One Indian Army 3AC (Pic No.25) was stabled at Pune Coaching Depo. Finally as soon as ICE hauled by 21878 left, we were given starter and arrived Pune Junction at 18:15, Delayed by 5Mins.
This passenger is awesome, cleanliness is ok ok all hail Indian Mentality and stupidity. Passengers were also good, toilets too were maintained in good condition. Water in toilets and wash basin was also present. Overall a train b/w average and good :)
