I traveled by this train on 28th Oct ex Madgaon to Pune. I traveled in AC 3 Tier. A few observations:
1) The AC compartments of this train have rats in them.
2) Toilets were not well cleaned
3) No Pantry Car is a big trouble
4)...

None of the night lamps in the compartments were working .. so there was a state complete darkness thru the compartment
5) The train stopped at numerous places on Konkan Rail Track .. since I kept awake for several reasons, I counted for how much time did the train stop when it was not on any platform or it was on an unscheduled station. The total amount of such stoppages comes to FIVE HOURS !!!!!
6) The train reached Pune station at 9.40 am (which is 30 min BEFORE the scheduled arrival)
7) The timetable of this train and its clashes with other trains on KR track need a serious REVIEW >> PLEASE!!!!!

This news item is from the Navhind times about 12 months back. It not only talks of 8 crore for Loleium station but also the plans for electrification at KR. Here is the link

thanx for the link,but electrifying KR is difficult process and even making it a double line will take a lot of time and will need huge amount of money.

Few months back read somewhere regarding KRC press release in which its MD is stating that KRS is ready to undertake the entire stretch of electrifrication provided that the rest of the part from Tokur to Mangalore by SR and from Roha to Panvel by CR has to be done but those zones respectively.

this train is far better to any other train with its awesome speed and punctuality...check its time table between mangalore and madgaon...i have travelled in it many times...literally,the train "flies"!!!!
