Updates:
Over the past 3 weeks, this website has been involved in a great crisis of survival with persistent and determined vested interests in the Government deploying a lot of public money into thwarting and killing us. Numerous updates have been made to the various browser apps and the website itself to keep the information flowing. But dedicated and salaried personnel in said department of the Railways are continuously involved in round-the-clock effort in reverse-engineering this site and further blocking public access to information. We are getting a lot of rapid feedback from the public of the huge inconvenience they are facing, but said personnel in the Government seem to be directly working against the public, as public enemies. This is a message to the Government of India.
1. This site is

not against the Govt. Indeed, most of our most ardent fans work for the Government, and many are officials in your own Railways department who use this site in preference to your own official site. Indeed the Govt. is the biggest beneficiary of such a free site - this is never done anywhere. All this is happening for the first time in India. We get a lot of attention from international media and people whole-heartedly praising this site, and pointing it as something their advanced countries do not have. We have received several offers from foreign government, courting us to work for them. And, they are willing to pay us a lot of money for such a site that does free propaganda for the country itself.
2. Are we stealing the Railways database? Are we just duplicating your content? In fact, up to 95% of this website is manufactured data, manufactured from the basic raw materials that we depend on. The Government provides us with cotton - in fact, cotton seed. We grow cotton out of it, make clothes, garments, things that actually help the public. We don't just show your train timetable to the public. For that the public can go directly to your own Govt. website. What this site does: Living Atlas, routes, PNR Analysis, Living FAQ, News cross-referencing, coach compositions, Loco Reversals, Technical Stops, station addresses, Blogs/Discussion, Trip Diary, Member database, an extensive Communication infrastructure - almost 100% of it has absolutely nothing to do with what your official site does.
But, we need cotton for it!!! We need cotton seed for us to grow the cotton and make clothes and garments out of it. Don't block it. Don't starve us of basic commodities.
What the Government is doing is tantamount to the British imposition of tax on salt. The British Raj was saying:
"You are stealing our salt. It is illegal for anyone to make salt. We will vigorously prosecute any violators since it is illegal to make our salt."
You, the Government, is saying the exact same thing. On a basic information "commodity", that you are supposed to provide an API on, as almost all progressive foreign governments have provided, you are imposing a "tax" on it, and working as a public enemy, just like the British Raj.
As such, our Chrome App, Firefox App, and other upcoming social sharing solutions are like the "Salt Satyagraha". We shall continue to engage in this Satyagraha. This is this site's Karma, and we do not really care what the results will be.
@all members: As the government continues to make vigorous attempts at blocking the basic cotton, out of which our PNR forums, etc. originate, please be prepared for brand new innovations in the field of massively parallelized peer-to-peer computing, whereby everyone has access to rail information - coming soon!!! As our new developments roll out, the Government will have no recourse but to declare the internet itself as illegal and block all information from everyone.
Thanks for everyone's patience during these trying times.
