It wil become another portal of Official site which will be closed soon :P Exactly sir. Even the New EAST-WEST Metro Corridor is creatinga Lot of problems in the Howrah maidan area where the terminal station is likely to be done. there was a proposal to extend the SBC terminal by acquiring the adjacent defunct Binny Mill land few years back. But the railways lost to real estate lobby and this was acquired by ETA developers. A small portion was given to KSRTC for their depot. I heard that still railways are working on acquiring some portion which is not yet sold. Not aware of these developments sir. I agree with all the 3 points that u have raised..and don't dispute them at all. However, keeping the dstnce in view, the costs might be pretty high.Which is why i opine that the business leaders should take the first step. Also, I hope u remember how much of a trouble it was to commute when the elevated express was being constructed. So Electronic city goers must be prepared to face a similar sort of a trouble if and when the project starts. No. The railways have dropped that idea...Although it was a good move by the railways to try and acquire the place. In the 90s some of the Hosur bound passenger trains were starting from Banaswadi. This could be a viable option to decongest YPR and SBC to some extent. A local train to Kolar starts from Cantt. Does Cantt have the capacity to accomodate only 1 train in its large terminal? Cant is not a large station by any means.Just 2 platforms to go with it.At the most 1 or 2 slots may be in the afternoon can be provided. But very difficult. ya..from the above reply by railway authority but i think they will announce some trains in recent budget that would be implemented after increasing the terminal capacity of sbc/ypr.lets hope for the best!! Not sure about SBC, but yes terminal capacity at YPR can be extended!! |
