The correct rail distance between New Delhi and Kalka is 269 kms, as shown on this site. All the quoted sources, govt. publications, in-train announcements and derivative sources which say 303 kms. are incorrect. Till now, all sites and publications have derived rail distances from the government source, and have taken the same for granted, without any independent verification.
This is the first site that computes rail distances independently, and in almost all cases, the distances quoted here are accurate with at most 0.1% error.

But how we can confirm that 269 is correct distance. For this the only source is Train Loco Pilot, did we have confirmed from them.

I am not happy with the answers. From which source you have confirmed. If GPS it might be correct or might be wrong.

TAAG 2011 Table 27 says 268 and Table 45 says 307. As table 27 gives the breakdown, perhaps that is correct, but I do not know

Look at Table 27 this way: New Delhi to Panipat 85; Panipat to Kurukshetra 67; Kurukshetra to Ambala : 42; Ambala to Chandigarh: 46 and Chandigarh to Kalka: 24... totaling 264. Now we need to check the individual sections...
