As per The Hindu news published on January 4, 2012:
" During the first nine months of the present financial year, 23.51 million passengers have been carried as against the target of 37.71 million passengers. The target for passenger earnings was Rs.278.91 crores of which Rs.210.19 crores has already been achieved."
DRM Waltair Division.
The Target for whole Waltair division is 278.91 crores and as per your reply the VSKP alone earns 265 crores.
Very contradictory and confusing.

My College Friends from DBG tell me that a Superfast Train(Best if it's a Partially-AC Duronto) between HWH/SDAH & DBG is very much required. Also the Track Doubling followed by Electrification on entire Darbhanga-Asansol Route :-)

/blog/post/351256/19 was misleading and wrong figure posted as passenger income as station income
Unfortunately you echoed the same in /blog/post/351256/21

which says that VSKP station is not earning that much amount and that's it.
My station Darbhanga is earning very good on passenger income front and VSKP was unnecessarily dragged in this thread as Troll point.

compare ourselves with any Minral and Industrially rich areas of country but DHN Div of ECR earned about Rs 5,181.43 crore from freight during 2010-2011 fiscal, but DHN passenger income is very less so their originating trains.
PS: Still i haven't got VSKP station income from passenger figure.

I have respect to your Dharbanga station which needs many trains to mumbai, Adi,hyd,sbc. Despite the overall slowdown in the economy and Maoist violence in the agency which had resulted in damage to Railway track, the Waltair Division of East Coast Railway has achieved impressive performance on all fronts during the first nine months of the present financial year.
The Division had done a loading of 37.5 million tonnes during the first nine months of the present financial year as against the target of 52 million tonnes. “With about 70 per cent of the target already achieved we are confident of completing the rest in the next three months,” Divisional Railway Manager N. Kashinath told the media on Tuesday. The Division had loaded 48.27 million tonnes during 2010-11. The Division has carried 29.33 million originating passengers during last financial year (2010-11). During the first nine months of the present financial year, 23.51 million passengers have been carried as against the target of 37.71 million passengers. The target for passenger earnings was Rs.278.91 crores of which Rs.210.19 crores has already been achieved. The earnings from freight traffic for the first nine months of the present financial year was Rs.2,915.27 crores as against the target of 3,757.83 crores for the year. The total earnings achieved so far was Rs.3,158.70 crores as against the target of Rs.4,284.65 crores for the year. The total earnings of the Division during 2010-11 was Rs.4,147.17 crores. He said that efforts were being made to curtail the working expenses.

Station income and Division income are two things. The VSKP station income data from passenger traffic is not available and Div income is propagated as station income .
