In a same PNR a lady can avail LD quota and other male passenger can be alloted any quota other than LD quota. So when a lady applies for a berth under ladies quota when her berth is to be booked along with those of male passenger(s) under the same PNR, the berth allotted under ladies quota may not be compact together with the berth(s) of male passenger(s). The Rule : In case a lady passenger alone or with children under 12 years, is willing to reserve berth/berths in ladies quota wherever earmarked, she can give choice 'Ladies' in the field of quota. If berths are available in ladies quota the system will allot accommodation in ladies cabin otherwise accommodation will be allotted in General quota. And you can see the berth for the lady is in a different coach. This is what I wanted to stress. It is not like passengers travelling in general quota in which case compact accommodation is provided and they travel together. Whether the ladies quota berths and the general quota berths are booked together or not, the same situation emerges. The ladies quota berths are given where they are located and the general quota berths are allotted where they are located.
