Greetings all,
I will be travelling by Mangala Lakshadweep Express/12618 from NZM In 2AC on March 5, i have some heavy luggage's which is beyond my free allowance and i'm planning to book the luggage in Luggage van; so please help me with the procedure in detail that i need to follow at NZM to book the luggage in Luggage van and whom i should contact and the location of officer. Please help.. Your suggestions are highly appreciated.

I think normal passengers cant book luggage in the Luggage Van.In most of the trains the Luggage Van is leased to a specific party for which Rly separately issues tender notification.

Before entering the platform, there will be a excess baggage counter. Please get your luggage weighed and collect receipt for the excess baggage fare. Take the help of licensed porter. He will arrange to load the baggages in the luggage van. Though it can be done by self also, due to time limit it is better to hire the services of porters.

Any idea about the excess baggage counter at NZM railway station where is it located.... once booked the luggage in brake Van do i need to attend the luggage or will it be carried by railway staff there.
