Pls advice, since we are travelling to Kolkata first time and my onward train is next day from sealdah, can anyone suggest a good budget hotel to stay for a family. we are 4 adults and 1 child. Hve got one good stay in Salt lake city, but dont know how far is it and how convenient it will be to travel to kolkata city next day for sightseeing.

6 Ballugunge place is too expensive for any normal earning person. Bhojohori Manna would be perfect at decent price.
Nabin Chandra Das is not exactly near Sovabazar. It is more close to Bagbazar Park. Taking the lane beside the park would lead one to Kumortuli and a temple named as "Siddheswari Kalibari".

Thanks for the information, since i have a whole day in kolkata what activities should be planned, one i have come up that is visiting science center in near proximity to NIPS. Any other suggestions. How much approximate do they charge for a cab from Howrah to NIPS, NIPS to sealdah station, NIPS to esplanade.

cabs run on meter, insist that they do, do not quote any price, just say the destination and hop on, then whatever the meter reading is double it up and add Rs.2 . that is the price u pay, and Dipyaman, in Kolkata bhojohori and 6 BP charge almost the same, I know in Blore 6 BP is audaciously high charged place. And being in SL, he will find it easier, anyhow if U have only a day, have a good time at park street.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
